Hi, my name is Anne Dineen, I am from Aughadown and I am room leader in the Junior Room here in the Naíonra.
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work with children. I graduated from Mercy Heights Secondary School in June 2011. From there I went to Cork College of Commerce where I studied Childcare FETAC Level 5 for one year. I then went onto Cork Institute of Technology where I completed my level 7 and level 8 in Early Years Education. Child development, Special Needs, Play Therapy and Creative Arts were among some of my favourite modules in College.
During my time of study, I carried out many work placements which I thoroughly enjoyed and gained a lot of experience from, such as two Primary schools for children with Special Needs, a Creche, Montessori and Preschool.
Throughout my time in College I worked part time in Co Action Skibbereen, Bantry and Dunmanway as a Summer Camp / Saturday Club Assistant and Home Support Worker in the Children's services. Since graduating from College I worked full time for nearly 2 years as an Early Years Educator in a Creche in Ballincollig. I cared for children from 0-6 years.
Working with children is the most rewarding job. Every Day is different and full of surprises which I love. By giving children opportunities and confidence, we can help them to reach their full potential.
